Today I read about the passing of Jan Berenstain, for most of us that name should bring back memories of the fantastic book series "The Berenstain Bears", I remember reading those books to my liitle brother and sister and trying to explain over and over why they had such long fingernails - "They are bears" I would say, "and bears have long fingernails" - but it would never help, my sister would simply ask over and over again "but they live in a house and shop in a store, why don't they cut their fingernails?". Jan and her husband brought those books to life with such simple drawings and wonderful stories. Here is a link to their story - it's worth a read:
